Most organizations meet AI as a single assistant. You ask it something, it answers.

One assistant, many jobs

A general assistant asked to research a lead, qualify it, draft outreach and update the CRM has to hold four different jobs in one context. Each added responsibility makes it worse at the others.

What a team changes

An agentic team splits those responsibilities:

  • A research agent gathers information
  • A qualification agent scores intent
  • An outreach agent drafts the message
  • A CRM agent writes the record

Each has a narrow brief, its own tools and its own permissions. They share context, not responsibilities.

The objective is controlled autonomy: every agent can act, but only within what it is allowed to touch.

Where the boundaries go

Permissions are the design work. For each agent you decide what it can read, what it can modify, which tools it may call, and which actions need a person to approve them first.
